2/13/23 - Steve Vann
Steve has found him self fishing Kerr Lake several times in the past month, catching close to 50 fish in his last 3 outings. He reports water temps ranging from 46 to 54 degrees and water stained in areas and clear in others; depending on run off, wind, and weather. Most of his success has resulted in the targeting of fish with jerk baits and rattle traps on rocky points.
With water temps fluctuating this time of year, anglers are encouraged to look for “warming” trends. Water temps below 45 degrees can be frustrating for most anglers. But if the water has warmed up by several degrees from the day prior, anglers may find fish actively feeding. It is also important to note that dropping water temps may have the reverse effect.
Tight lines and see ya the shop!!
