Hey guys, Capt. Ben Ricks of Ricks Brothers Outdoors. Trout on the Neuse River has been pretty strong with some real gators mixed in. We are in spring transition time. There are trout everywhere so if you aren't catching, move. You may find trout in winter spots way up a creek or you may find trout in summer spots on structure in the main river. The crazy thing is you can find them in both spots all on the same day right now.

The redfish bite in the river has been slow, but there are some schools around that are providing good action if you come across them. The redfish bite will begin to heat up any day now I'm sure. Bluefish are already starting to make an appearance too. Don't be afraid to do some running around to find the best bite. I always tell folks if you are going to move, move big.
