INSHORE - Hey guys, Ben Ricks of Ricks Brothers Outdoors here. The fishing on the Neuse River has been excellent. Flounder and slot Redfish have finally started to show up. Flounder have been falling for live bait on Carolina rigs and jigs with soft plastics. There are a lot of Redfish in the river, most small with a few slot fish in the mix. Popping corks and scented plastics are a great way to target them in the creeks and bays. The summer trout fishing has been excellent, don't forget to fish deeper structure during the heat of the day.  Jigs and popping corks with artificial shrimp have been the ticket. OLD DRUM TIME IS HERE!! Its on people!!  Time to get your corks and large swim baits out. You have about a two month window to get in on this action.
