The Trout Bite is still HOT!! Commercial netters are in, but don’t let this run you out of the creeks!! As the water gets even colder - below 48 Degrees, the fish will push further back into the creeks.

Pay attention to the weather and what has happened before you get there. Fish can be caught in muddy/stained water, but if there has been a lot of rain and the runoff off is pouring down the creeks - move back out to the main rivers and points. Rain water also lowers salinity levels which may push trout out or lock them up inside the creeks.

The Mirrolure bite is hot and one of the BEST PRESENTATIONS to Specs. However, there is a manner of fishing them that many people don’t possess… FISH THEM SLOW. If fish are holding to 5’-6’ of water a 10-12 second count is needed to get the bait down to them. Slow “twitch” or “Bump” these suspending baits of the bottom - STRIKES occur on the pause!! Lots of water can be covered throwing hard baits once you find the fish and get locked in on the presentation. My preferred bait is the CATCH 2000 (MR20) this time of year. It suspends like the MR17, but is a longer profile bait - available in a large assortment of colors here at the shop. It’s ALWAYS tied on and many days never swapped off. When cleaning your catch - pay attention to what they have been feeding on. Many areas have larger bait fish, you may be surprised!

SOFT PLASTICS are still very productive, especially in the deeper 12’ waters. The Z-Man Swimming Trout Trick, Billy Bay HALO SHAD, Fathom Paddle and RAT Tails, and 360 Searchbaits work will for finding deeper specs. If you FIND FISH - STAY ON THE FISH!!
