6/14/20 - Ben Ricks

Hey guys, Captain Ben Ricks here of Ricks Brothers Outdoors.  Summer fishing has begun.  Redfish are everywhere.  Redfish have been from New Bern to the mouth of the Neuse River and in the marshes down around Beaufort and Atlantic Beach.  Swimbaits, popping corks, and topwater lures have been effective tactics.  Summer time trout can be tricky but if you find bait it's likely that there may be some trout on nearby points and deeper channels.  Paddle-tail jigs have been a great choice for trout recently.  We are also seeing the occasional flounder and black drum which can be a sure sign summer is right around the corner.  I've been running several evening/afternoon charters lately so if you are looking to get out after work let me know.  My next open Saturday is July 11.  Also remember Old Drum time is right around the corner and my dates are booking up quickly.  I'd be happy to get you on the water sometime soon 252-333-9332.  I hope you guys are catching and not fishing.
